Impala expects every employee and every contractor to promote a safe, healthy and responsible business environment.
At Impala, the
environment and the health and safety of staff, contractors and the
local community are of the highest priority. Such considerations
influence every aspect of our operations from project inception
through to operations and maintenance. We constantly advocate that
there is no other business objective that should compromise safety
and the health of our people, the environment and the community in
which we work and live.
Impala expects every
employee and every contractor to promote a safe, healthy and
responsible business environment.
Typically our investments
are designed to ensure our assets are “state of the art”,
continually improving quality, capabilities and sophistication. The
majority of our sites have ISO or LME accreditation, and we are
obtaining accreditation for the remaining operations. Furthermore,
all of our operations are audited annually by peer groups headed up
the members of the Impala Executive Committee. We foster a culture
in which every colleague is encouraged to initiate
improvements.
Our commitment and
investment in HSE, for example, through operational training, is
extensive. We have established “communities of practice” to assure
constant sharing of knowledge and to determine best practice. This
sharing is done at a regional as well as global level.
For us, achieving
operational excellence is a process of continual learning and
improvement.
